The Xotic BB Preamp is less a single-trick overdrive than a flexible tone-shaping tool that belongs near the front of your signal chain. Dial in over 30dB of clean boost to push your amp into natural breakup, then sculpt the result with a ±15dB two-band active EQ that lets you add sparkle, warmth, or midrange bite without losing the character of your guitar.
What sets the BB apart is its pre-gain stage, which acts like a gain gate before the EQ. Roll it back for glassy, pristine clean tones with just a touch of sheen, or push it forward for a smooth, compressed overdrive that thickens single notes and tames aggressive picking. It’s a pedal that can act as an always-on tone enhancer or a dedicated drive stage, depending on where you set the controls.
True bypass switching keeps the circuit fully out of the path when disengaged, so there’s zero tonal smear or signal loss elsewhere on your board. Power it with a 9V battery or an optional AC adapter (negative tip, regulated recommended)—both are supported by the same low 6mA draw. This bundle includes two 6″ patch cables, making it easy to slot the BBP-COMP into an existing chain without hunting for extra cabling.
