Xotic built this pedal around the idea that the best coloration is no coloration — plant it at the front of your chain and it pushes your true tone into every pedal downstream, sharpening the character of whatever comes after it rather than masking it.
Beyond simple volume, the Gain control has the feel of a clean tube amp pushed just past comfortable, giving you access to a bold, rounded push that mimics cranking your amp’s own volume. Dedicated Treble and Bass controls let you shape the tone independently, so you can brighten a dark humbucker or add low-end weight before a fuzz or drive pedal without touching your amp settings.
Because it doubles as a buffer, the RC Booster V2 also defends your signal against the tone loss and noise pickup that come with long cable runs or crowded pedalboards — a quiet workhorse as much as a tone tool. Every unit is hand-wired and hand-built in the U.S.A., with true bypass switching so it disappears completely when off.
Though voiced for guitar, it’s just as at home on bass, staying neutral enough to add punch without smearing low-end clarity.
