Before Robotalk 2 split into dual voiced channels, the original Robotalk built its reputation on one strange, addictive trick: an envelope filter that could lock into arpeggiated, robotic sequences on top of its dynamic sweep. Fans never stopped asking for that feature back, and the Xotic Custom Shop finally delivered — not as a simple reissue, but as a ground-up reengineering of the whole circuit.
The envelope filter response has been sharpened for a more musical, touch-responsive sweep, whether you’re chasing glassy quack on clean funk chords or a fatter, vocal-like squelch on bass. Layer in the reworked arpeggiator and you get those same hypnotic, stuttering robot-voice textures the original was known for, now pushed further into weirder, more mesmerizing territory. It’s equally at home carving out rhythmic textures on guitar or adding percussive snap to a bass signal chain.
Xotic packed all of this into a noticeably smaller enclosure than the original, making it far easier to justify the real estate on a crowded pedalboard. This bundle includes two 6″ patch cables, so you can drop it straight into your chain — ideal placed early in the signal path, ahead of modulation and time-based effects, where its envelope tracking stays clean and responsive.
