Description
The Platinum Stage sits at the front of your acoustic rig as a full-fledged preamp and stage box, not just a buffer. Fishman rebuilt it around a discrete, 17-volt Class-A circuit with high headroom, so quiet fingerstyle passages and hard strumming both stay clean and uncompressed. Because the signal path is entirely analog, transients from piezo or magnetic pickups come through with their natural attack intact rather than getting smoothed over.
Tone shaping is where this pedal earns its place on a board. A 4-band EQ with sweepable mid lets you dial into the exact resonant peak or dead spot in your instrument’s voice, while the adjustable low-cut filter tames boom from body-heavy guitars or sits comfortably under an upright bass. A dedicated EQ mode switches the voicing between guitar-style and bass-style response, so mandolin, fiddle, and bass players aren’t stuck with settings tuned for flattop guitars.
For live use, a phase invert switch is your first defense against feedback when playing loud next to a monitor, and the balanced XLR DI output — switchable pre or post EQ, with auto ground lift — sends a clean signal straight to the board. A volume boost with its own level control covers solos or instrument-to-instrument leveling without touching your main tone settings.
