Description
Named for the borough it channels, the East River Drive runs on a JRC4558 IC to deliver symmetrical overdrive that piles on gain and edge without smearing your amp’s natural voice. Three knobs are all you need: Volume sets your output, Drive pushes the saturation from a light sweetening into a searing snarl, and Tone shapes how much bite pokes through the rest of the band. It’s equally at home nudging a clean amp into breakup or slamming an already-dirty amp further over the edge, making it a flexible slot filler whether you run it early in the chain for touch-sensitive crunch or later for a final push into the front end.
- Coaxes dirt from a clean amp or shoves a dirty amp harder
- True bypass keeps your dry tone intact when off
- Rugged die-cast chassis built for the road and the board
- Ships with a 9V battery
Built around an analog circuit with true bypass switching and mono I/O, it draws a modest 6mA and fits a footprint of 4.5 x 2.75 x 2.1 inches. A 9V battery is included, and it’ll also run on an optional 9.6VDC-200mA adapter (sold separately). Straightforward, unfussy, and priced for players who’d rather spend on more pedals than one overdrive.
