Description
The AMT Legend Amp Series II R2 chases the gain character of a Mesa Triple Rectifier head – thick, saturated, and touch-responsive – and packs it into a footprint small enough to squeeze onto any board (110 x 62 x 58 mm). It’s the upgraded “PRO” evolution of AMT’s original Legend Amp line, built for players who want amp-in-a-box tone without dragging a cab around.
What sets the Series II apart is routing flexibility. Three independent outputs – CAB SIM OUT, PREAMP OUT, and DRIVE OUT – can run simultaneously, so you could feed a DAW track direct, split to a power amp, and drive a combo all from the same box. Studio engineers and home recordists get real mix options: layer a mic’d cab with a direct signal, or capture multiple takes at once.
Also new to the II series is a CL LEVEL knob and CL BOOST switch that only kick in when the pedal is bypassed. Set the CL LEVEL around 1 o’clock for a standard -10dB buffered signal that keeps your tone intact through long cable runs, or engage the CL BOOST switch for up to +8dB, turning this single pedal into a switchable two-channel preamp – clean on bypass, Rectifier-style crunch when engaged.
- OD LEVEL – overall output loudness
- OD GAIN – amount of drive and saturation
- HIGH / MIDDLE / BASS – three-band EQ shaping
- CL LEVEL – buffered bypass output level (1 o’clock = -10dB)
- CL BOOST switch – adds up to +8dB clean boost when bypassed
- LED indicator shows when the effect is engaged
Runs on 9-12V DC, negative center, via adapter or battery, with low power draw for crowded boards.
