Description
Reinhold Bogner built his reputation on amps players chase for decades, and the Ecstasy Blue pedal is his way of putting that blue-channel magic under your feet. It’s not a simulation — the circuit mirrors the actual Ecstasy amplifier topology: four discrete Class A gain stages, zero op-amps, zero diode clipping. That’s why it responds to pick attack and volume-knob dynamics the way a real tube amp does, rather than flattening everything into a wall of fuzz.
Blue channel means classic rock-n-roll grit at lower gain, with real teeth available once you push it. A Mode switch toggles between vintage Plexi voicing and a hotter modified setting, while the Pre-Eq switch (B1/N/B2) reshapes how open and present the upper harmonics feel. The Structure switch goes further, letting you dial in the EQ and gain character of the 100, 101, or 20th Anniversary Ecstasy amp eras — essentially three amps in one footswitch.
Flip on the Variac switch and the pedal introduces that sagging, dropped-voltage compression amp heads get when pushed hard, adding feel without adding noise. Runs on a 9V battery or standard 9VDC supply, with internal voltage elevation for extra headroom and dynamic range.
