Description
Reinhold Bogner has been building tube amps for elite touring and studio players since 1989, and the Uberschall pedal is his way of putting that same ferocity on your board. Modeled after the amp nicknamed “Armageddon in a Box,” this pedal isn’t shy about its intentions: it goes from usable classic-rock crunch at lower gain settings straight into savage, face-melting hi-gain territory once you push it. Place it at the front of your chain for amp-like saturation, or run it into a clean amp for a full rhythm-and-lead distortion voice.
Under the hood, five discrete Class A gain stages and diode clipping replicate the circuitry of the Uberschall amplifier’s high-gain channel, which is why this pedal retains note separation and touch sensitivity that most distortion boxes lose once you crank the gain. It runs on a 9V battery or 9VDC supply, but Bogner’s internal circuitry boosts that voltage well above standard levels internally, giving the pedal a dynamic feel closer to a tube amp under load than a typical stompbox.
- True bypass signal path
- Master controls: volume, treble, middle, bass, gain
- Independently lit boost function with its own volume control
- Input, output, and remote jacks — remote allows external on/off and boost switching
- Low battery LED indicators
- Premium build: double-sided gold-plated PCBs, German WIMA and Japanese Nichicon capacitors, gold-plated relays, Carling switches
This listing includes two 6″ patch cables, handy for wiring the Uberschall in with neighboring pedals on your board.
