Description
The Wessex takes Bogner’s tube-amp DNA and packs it into a single stompbox, built around a custom audio transformer that most overdrive circuits simply don’t have. That transformer is the reason this pedal doesn’t sound like a generic drive box — it pushes air the way a well-loved tube amp does, or the way those coveted British mixing consoles from the 1960s colored a signal. The result is a dimensional, harmonically complex overdrive that feels alive under your fingers rather than flat and compressed.
- Clean, headroom-rich boost when you want transparency
- Dynamically responsive distortion that reacts to pick attack and guitar volume
- Treble/Bass control for tightening or opening up the low end, letting you dial in a signature voice rather than a one-size-fits-all crunch
On a pedalboard, the Wessex works equally well as a always-on tone-shaping boost ahead of your amp or as a stand-alone drive for pushing riffs into saturated territory — it holds its character at low gain and high gain alike, which is rare for a pedal this size.
This listing is for a DEMO unit with some light signs of use. It has not seen stage or studio wear beyond cosmetic handling, and performs exactly as a new Wessex would.
Bogner has finally made it onto pedalboards, and once you hear what that transformer does to your tone, you won’t want to go back.
