Despite its distortion side being capable of genuinely aggressive, over-the-top output, the OS-2 doesn’t smear away the character of single-coil pickups the way some high-gain circuits do — Strat and Tele players get to keep their pickup’s identity intact even when pushing the gain hard.
Control layout is straightforward: Level, Tone, Drive, and Color give you full command over output volume, brightness, gain amount, and the overdrive/distortion blend, so you can sculpt anything from a subtle boost to a snarling rhythm crunch.
