Description
Most delay pedals ask you to pick a flavor and dial in time and repeats. The Obscura asks a different question: what happens when you push those repeats past clean and into decay? Its four delay engines — Analog, Tape, Lo-Fi, and Reverse — are just the starting point. Stack the Tone and Degrade controls on top and you can warp each repeat from crisp to crumbling in real time, adding grit, filtering, and instability without touching a second pedal.
Where the Obscura earns its name is the Repeat/Hold function. Trap a phrase mid-decay and let it gurgle, smear, or run backwards while you keep playing over it — useful for ambient swells, glitchy transitions, or just disappearing into a wash of sound live. Tap Tempo with beat divisions keeps you locked to the song when things aren’t meant to be chaotic, and true stereo I/O lets the pedal spread wide across a stereo rig.
Practical touches matter too: a Delay Tails switch enables buffered bypass so trails ring out naturally when you kick the effect off, and True Bypass circuitry keeps your dry tone untouched when the pedal’s out of the signal path. The compact chassis uses a soft-click, vacuum-style footswitch for quiet, reliable engagement on a crowded board.
