Description
The UniChorus Studio Edition is EBS’s refined take on a modulation pedal that’s been earning pedalboard real estate since 1997. Built around all-analog circuitry, it delivers a chorus and flange tone that leans smooth and fat rather than thin or watery — a distinction that matters most when the instrument feeding it is a bass. The low end stays intact through the effect rather than getting swallowed by it, though guitarists and keyboardists will find plenty to like here too (guitar players chasing a similar vibe should check out EBS’s RED TWISTER instead).
Under the hood sits an internal mix control so you can blend the wet signal against your dry tone to taste, alongside front-panel Depth and Rate knobs for shaping the modulation itself. Three selectable modes — Flange, Pitch Modulation, and Chorus — cover a wide swath of movement, from subtle shimmer to more pronounced pitch-warble textures, and the output can be run mono or stereo depending on how your rig is set up.
The Studio Edition builds on the 2008 revision’s gains — 3 dB more headroom, easier dial-in sensitivity, lower noise, and true bypass switching — with an optimized signal path, a new signal relay switching design, and protection against overvoltage up to 18V. It’ll run happily on anything from 9 to 12V DC.
