Description
The MXR M103 Blue Box isn’t a subtle pedal — it’s a signal-mangling octave fuzz built to dredge up tones from somewhere beneath the low E string. Internally, it splits your guitar’s signal and drops a copy two full octaves down, then lets you dial in exactly how much of that subterranean growl blends back with your dry tone via the dedicated Blend knob. Run it wide open for full-on synth-bass weirdness, or blend it in subtly to thicken riffs with an unexpected low-end shove.
Because the effect is so drastic, placement in your chain matters: most players run it first in line, right off the guitar, for the cleanest octave tracking. It responds best to single notes and simple power chords — chase chords and it’ll happily fall apart into glorious chaos, which is half the appeal.
Built on MXR’s rugged pedal chassis with true hardwire bypass, the Blue Box stays out of your signal path entirely when switched off, so it won’t color your tone when you’re not using it. This bundle includes two 6″ patch cables, making it easy to slot the M103 into a pedalboard chain without hunting for extra cabling.
