Description
The MXR M152 Micro Flanger takes the swirling, jet-engine motion of the original M117 Flanger and squeezes it into a footprint that won’t eat up your board’s real estate. This is a modern reissue of a genuine 80s design, running fully analog bucket brigade circuitry rather than digital modeling, so the modulation carries that slightly gritty, tape-like warmth that’s hard to fake.
Controls are kept deliberately simple: a Speed knob dials in how fast the sweep cycles, from slow, deep undulations to a nearly gargled flutter, while the Regeneration knob pushes feedback into the circuit for anything from a subtle shimmer to a hard, resonant peak that borders on self-oscillation. Set them low for gentle chorus-adjacent movement near the front of your chain, or crank both for the classic “through a wind tunnel” effect that flangers are known for. It sits well either before a drive pedal for a swirling growl, or after distortion for a more spacey, ambient wash.
A true bypass switch keeps your dry tone completely unaffected when the effect is off, so it won’t color the rest of your signal chain. This bundle includes two 6″ patch cables for quick, low-loss connections to neighboring pedals.
