Description
The Pickup Booster earns its spot at the start of your signal chain by doing one thing exceptionally well: adding clean, muscular gain without smearing your guitar’s natural voice. Built around a fully discrete, Class A circuit, it stays quiet and transparent whether you’re nudging a solo forward or pushing an amp into breakup. This updated version lets the Gain knob drop all the way to unity (0dB), and a discrete push-pull output stage keeps the tone crisp even with long cable runs — so a “clean” setting truly stays clean.
What sets this booster apart from a standard clean boost is the Resonance Switch, which talks directly to your pickups. Running single-coils? Flip it to position “1” for a vintage humbucker growl suited to blues and classic rock, or flip to “2” for a high-output humbucker snarl built for searing leads and driving tube amps into saturation. It’s a simple way to get humbucker-style thickness and sustain from single-coil pickups, or to fatten an already-humbucker-equipped guitar even further.
Like Seymour Duncan’s Dirty Deed, Vapor Trail, and 805 Overdrive, the Pickup Booster is hand-assembled in Santa Barbara, California, and runs true-bypass so it stays out of the way when it’s off.
