Fly Rig 5-CALI condenses a full backline rig down to a single stompbox by borrowing its distortion voicing from the CALI/US Metal SansAmp Character Series — a nod to the mid-’70s West Coast amps that were built to roar at volumes most stages can’t handle. Here, that same personality is dialed in at any listening level, letting you reshape a clean amp’s whole character or layer it on top of an already-dirty tone with one footswitch tap.
The SansAmp section is pre-voiced for clean tones and carries a 3-band active EQ alongside Level and Drive controls, so you decide how far into overdrive territory you push things. Parallel to it sits DLA, a tape-echo-style delay drawn from the Boost DLA pedal, complete with Level, Time, Repeats, and a Drift control that introduces subtle modulation drift for that worn, analog wobble — plus a dedicated Tap Tempo switch for dialing in delay time on the fly. Reverb, lifted from the Boost RVB pedal, delivers vintage spring ambience without the boingy pings or cavernous overhang some digital units add.
Boost is the wildcard: switch it in for up to 21dB of extra pre-amp gain, essentially an on-demand tube gain stage. Run it into the SansAmp or DLA sections, stack it with both, or send it straight to your amp for anything from a mild push to full-on saturation.
