The Riot Mini takes the hi-gain snarl Suhr built its reputation on and squeezes it into a chassis small enough to slot between your other essentials without eating up half your board. Nothing about the tone got downsized, though — it’s the same aggressive, saturated distortion character that made the full-size Riot a staple for players who need gain that cuts through a mix rather than mudding it up.
Control is straightforward: Distortion, Tone, and Level knobs give you the range from gritty edge-of-breakup to full-on high-gain crunch, while a 2-position Voicing switch lets you shift the underlying diode/LED clipping character to dial in either a tighter, more compressed feel or a slightly looser, more open response. Wherever you place it in the chain — after an overdrive for a boosted lead tone, or on its own as your main gain stage — it responds predictably to picking dynamics and volume changes from your guitar.
True bypass keeps your signal path clean when the pedal’s off, and an LED status indicator makes on/off state easy to see at a glance on a dark stage. The enclosure is a die-cast, powder-coated housing built to survive life on a touring board, and power comes from any standard -9Vdc supply, so it drops right into your existing daisy chain or isolated power setup.
