Built on the foundation of Carl Martin’s already-respected Compressor/Limiter, this signature edition was shaped through direct collaboration with Andy Timmons to solve a real pedalboard problem: needing two distinct compression characters without sacrificing two slots of board space.
Timmons wanted one setting for gentle, transparent rhythm work and a second for aggressive squash and extended sustain on solos. Carl Martin answered with a two-preset design controlling Compression Rate and Level independently, while Threshold and Response remain fixed and shared across both presets via 6mm miniature knobs. That leaves a clean six-knob layout that stays intuitive under stage lights, plus a ¼” jack for remote latching switching between the two presets on the fly.
Under the hood, this model runs on newly developed DC/DC converter circuitry that steps a standard 9V DC 200mA supply up to internal +/-12V rails. The result is headroom and sonic clarity matching the original Compressor/Limiter, so nothing gets sacrificed for the added preset flexibility.
